Beyond Self
2024



Out-of-Body uses virtual reality to allow people to leave their bodies and engage with their past selves.

The project is inspired by the age-old philosophical precept: “Know thyself,” stemming from the ancient paradox that often it’s harder to understand oneself than it is to understand others.

How is it possible that understanding ourselves can be so challenging while we can quickly see through the personality of another?

To break this paradox, Out-of-Body enables people to know themselves from outside themselves.
